We are kicking off a series of gallery updates focusing on the Combiner Wars updates of the Combaticons, and as a starter for ten, we’re cutting right to the chase with the big bad Bruticus himself!
As the fourth of the classic Generation 1 Combiners to get made, Bruticus has the most mold sharing with those that have gone before. Fortunately, the mixing of molds and the remolding on many of the parts means the final combiner has his own identity – as is only deserving of the big guy. Bruticus is one of the best looking out of the Combiner Wars combiners, and the only real fault I can level against him is that to give him a gun that is not Shockwave, you need to sacrifice his back cannons, or borrow another weapon from elsewhere (I recommend the rifle from Generation 1 Bruticus)
Overall, Hasbro’s Bruticus is a great representation of the character. If you want 100% accuracy to the original, you’re going to want to pick up the upcoming Takara-Tomy one, but if you don’t mind a little reinterpretation, Hasbro has you covered. Check him out and decide for yourself.
