We’ve got another gallery of a cool recent release in the Combiner Wars line to share with you. Here today for your enjoyment is a look at the Combiner Wars Rodimus toy.
Rodimus is a retooled Combiner Wars Blackjack, sporting a new head, and making full use of that weapon storage as car spoiler feature in vehicle mode. The robot mode is a departure from the traditional design of a Rodimus – while the head is spot-on, there are no flames on this one’s chest (since the hood is the backpack). This might throw off some, particularly those who were hoping for an Alex Milne “More than Meets the Eye” Rodimus, but if you can look past what this figure is not, you’ll find a charming reuse of a good mold, that has excellent colors and a sharp look. This is not one I had thought of getting initially, I picked it up on an impulse buy because I like Hot Rod – and I’m glad I went with the impulse on this one.
