Once again we bring you our weekly round up of concept art images of The Last Knight. We hope you will enjoy this week’s art of Transformers The Last Knight Concept Art: Hot Rod, Megatron & Decepticon Spaceship

As usual, thanks to all members of our 2005 Boards for sharing these great images in our forums. You can find the pictures on the next threads:

Hot Rod By Furio Tedeschi. Earlier version of Hot Rod. We can see that some body parts stayed the same but the head changed with some minor Lockdown’s parts used.

Hot Rod/Sidekick Head By Furio Tedeschi. Hot Rod was initially thought as Sidekick character. The head concept for was highly inspired by Lockdown’s mask and it was changed for the final edition of the the film.

Megatron By James PaickMegatron doing his thing on the street.

Decepticon Spaceship By James Paick. A very nice Decepticon ship design that we would have liked to thee in the movie.

You can also check the mirrored images after the jump and then sound off at the 2005 Boards!

TFW2005’s Titans Return Kup Gallery Now Online

$

For our next gallery, we’re turning our focus to the flinty old Autobot warrior, Kup!

Titans Return Kup has divided opinions since he was first shown, due to his lack of resemblance to the Generation 1 cartoon. This version of Kup skews closer to the original toy’s design, with influences from the Marvel comics design added in (for those who want a cartoon version, Takara-Tomy has you covered). The robot mode has a nice look to it, with a good amount of poseability including a waist swivel, although it is a bit lacking in the paint department. As mentioned, the head is inspired by the Marvel comics, specifically Andrew Wildman’s work. Transformation is clever with a good chunk of the vehicle mode folding up into the boots. Vehicle mode is a good update of the original truck mode, with all the hard angles that comes with it. What is particularly cool with Kup is that his robot mode is very clean, with very few parts of the vehicle mode hanging off his frame.

We really enjoy Kup, and he is a figure worth checking out, whether you get the Hasbro or Takara version. Check him out below:

Takara MP-41 Masterpiece Dinobot Listing And Possible Price

$

Thanks to Loopaza Megastore On Facebook we have a Takara MP-41 Masterpiece Dinobot Possible Price.

The listing confirms that MP-41 will bee the popular and highly expected BW Dinobot and it’s scheduled for release on July, 2018. Our first clear prototype images made him get all the attention from the fandom. But this listing has also brought a surprising information related to the price. According to the source, MP Dinobot will cost 28,000 Yen which is about 245 US Dollars which would make him even more expensive than the MP-36 Megatron.

We have no other extra information about this release, so it’s up to you to speculate the reason for this new price. Will it be really big? Will it come with tons of accesories? A new price range for MP figures? In any case take it with a grain of salt until we get official extra information about it. While you wait, pre-orders are up in our sponsors TFSource and BBTS so stay tuned for more information when available.

TFW2005’s Transformers Legends Blurr Gallery Now Online

$

For our next gallery, we’re jumping back to 2016 and the dawn of the Titans Return line, with a Japanese release. We’re taking a look back at the Transformers Legends releases of the first two waves of Titans Return’s Deluxe class, and we’re getting the ball rolling with the Legends version of Blurr!

Blurr originally got a release in the first Generations line back in 2010 as a remold of Drift, based on the IDW comics design, which took Blurr into a more modern design. For Titans Return, Hasbro took Blurr back to his roots as a sci-fi hovercar, giving the character a great look that worked out very faithful to the original Blurr; although Hasbro’s deco was very blue. Takara’s release for the Legends line who we’re talking about today took that solid base mold and gave it a new deco that much more closely resembled the traditional look of Blurr from the cartoon. In our opinion, this deco – with its two-tone blue and white highlights – break up the solid blue areas from the Hasbro version, and really brings out the best in the mold, and gives fans a fantastic new version of Blurr who is currently the definitive version of the character for the Generations / Classics series.

Check out his gallery for a look at Blurr:

Paramount Pictures Loses HuaHua Media Film Financing Deal

$

0

Just as Paramount began to celebrate its extended partnership with Hasbro…. disaster strikes!

HuaHua Media who collaborated with Paramount by investing US$ 1 Billion to promote and distribute movies in China, moved away from the deal leaving the Viacom company in a tight situation.

That deal, had it stayed, would have funded 25% of Paramount film slates up until the end of 2019.

Those who are in touch with the industry may already know that the deal was in a rocky path ever since Transformers: The Last Knight failed to live up to the expectations of the Chinese company.

While we do not believe that this situation will greatly affect the upcoming two Transformers movies, some sort of financial curtailing may occur. Revenue from China mainly drove the global financial success of Transformers: Age Of Extinction and the aforementioned Transformers: The Last Knight.

Paramount, in a statement, said it and Huahua had agreed to end the arrangement:

“Paramount Pictures and Huahua Media have mutually agreed to end their slate financing agreement… following recent changes to Chinese foreign investment policies,”

Jim Gianopulos, Paramount’s chairman and CEO, attempted to put a positive spin on the news, saying in a statement that the new deals give the studio a better opportunity to capture more of the profits from the films it makes. He noted that deals with the likes of Skydance will help finance the bigger budgeted releases, while Paramount will not enlist third party investors on its more modestly budgeted productions.

Transformers not inducted into Toy Hall of Fame 2017

$

USA Today reports on the outcome of the National Toy Hall of Fame 2017 induction. Transformers was one of the twelve toys to break through to the finals this year once again, along with the likes of the Magic 8 Ball, fellow Hasbro property My Little Pony, and Matchbox cars.

We’ve been here before, though, and once again, Transformers was defeated in the final vote by this year’s three inductees, the Wiffle ball, the equally classic whodunnit board game Clue, and paper planes. Yes, we scratch our head at exactly what is defined as a toy here (sand was also a nominee), though given the thought that paper planes date as far back as 500BC we can’t begrudge its recognition.

With two years running now for Transformers making the final twelve, maybe next year will finally see Transformers break through? Let us consult our Magic 8 Ball; “don’t count on it”.
