Thanks to Taoboa’s weibo page, we have more new stock images of some upcoming Power of the Primes figures! The two featured here are Alchemist Prime and Alpha Trion, the great mentor of Optimus Prime. Sadly we don’t have any out of package shots, but we do have their in-package images which show off the Prime Masters in robot mode alongside their suits and weapon attachments.

Thanks to 2005 Boards member Type-R we can report that Takara Tomy The Last Knight Deluxe Cogman has a new release date.

The new information was shared via Takara Tomy Twitter and Website and indicates that following the previous announcement that Cogman was delayed from his advertised October 28, 2017 release date, Cogman will now be arriving in Japan on December 28, 2017.

Online retailer ToyWiz has posted some details of more upcoming additions to the KidRobot Transformers VS G.I. Joe collection. In addition to the 7-inch Cobra Commander and enamel pins, we are also getting a set of 18 PVC minifigures based on the Tom Scioli comic series, including the likes of Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Bumblebee as they appeared in the series, as well as a 7-inch version of Megatron complete with his energy flail and Grimlock head mitten.

Both the minifigures and the Megatron are set for a December 2017 release.

The Wall Street Journal (paywall) is reporting via undisclosed sources that Hasbro has been in talks to take over / merge with Mattel.  This has been rumored before but apparently has fired back up recently.  No specifics, costs, or process have been revealed at this time.  Shares for Mattel are up on the news.  Hasbro is currently worth near 11 billion, while Mattel is worth 5 billion.  The merger would put Barbie, Transformers, Nerf and Hot Wheels under one roof, not to mention licenses for both DC and Marvel, creating a truly dominant market player.  Let us » Continue Reading.

Transformers The Last Knight’s final Deluxe class figure, the British robo-butler Cogman, has arrived at Canadian retail, according to this report on Cybertron.ca. He was spotted at the Galleries de la Capitale EB Games in Quebec, for the princely sum of $29.99 (plus tax) Canadian.

Cogman is getting around this week, because as well as Canadian retail, he’s just appeared on shelves in the UK, along with the rest of his case, which includes the previously unreleased at UK retail Deluxe Wave 3 figures Bumblebee (with interchangeable arm cannon), Crosshairs and Strafe. This is the assortment previously listed on Entertainment Earth as “Deluxe Wave 4”, so it implies UK retailers have skipped straight to the case that gives them four new toys (plus repacks of Barricade and Berserker). This case assortment has two Bumblebees and Cogmans (Cogmen?), plus one each of Crosshairs, Strafe, Berserker, and Barricade. It’s good news for those wanting a Cogman or the new mold Bumblebee, and less pleasing for those wanting the new Crosshairs as he’s a shortpack.

The assortment was sighted in an Asda Metrocentre store, so Asda is the place to look for that Movie Headmaster goodness.

Wrap Party for Bumblebee: The Movie (new official name of the movie) was held yesterday and during the event, the robot mode head for Bumblebee was revealed.

Though our bot in yellow armor adopted his classic Volkswagen Beetle form as his vehicle mode, the robot mode head however is closely resembling his modern take (a.k.a Bayverse). However, the new look does indeed borrow certain elements evoking an 80s look. For example: the crest is now shaped as a hood of a VW car.

Directed by Travis Knight with a screenplay by Christina Hodson, it is the sixth installment in the live-action Transformers film series, based on the Transformers’ character of the same name, and serves as a prequel to Transformers (2007). The film stars Hailee Steinfeld, John Cena, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Rachel Crow, and Pamela Adlon. Principal photography on the film began on July 31, 2017, in Los Angeles and San Francisco, California.

As an unexpected surprise, official images of the highly expected Masterpiece incarnation of the popular Decepticon bad cop have surfaced via Hasbro Pulse and we are sure fans won’t be disappointed with this new mold.

Barricade also got very interesting extra information on the article about transformation, details and confirmed die-cast parts:

Via Weibo, we have an in package image of the upcoming Power of the Primes Rodimus Unicronus. Based on Shattered Glass Rodimus from 2008, and with a bio directly inspired by the Aspects of Evil series of Marvel UK comics, Rodimus Unicronus is a cool looking dark repaint of the Autobot cavalier turned leader. His packaging artwork is particularly cool and nicely evokes the style of the Shattered Glass version of the character this one is based on. It’s been reported a while back that Hasbro might be introducing a new Transformers Movie line – a “Movie Classics” series if you will – that will offer fans characters from the five live action Transformers Movies reimagined or updated with accurate designs and current standards of design. We know this line is tentatively known as “Movie Edition”.

And now we have a look at our first figure for the line. Say hello to your screen-accurate (or closest we’ve had so far in deluxe scale) Age of Extinction Stinger.

Revealed in an image via Facebook group Taiwan TFCC, Stinger was shown off at an event in Taiwan along with some other upcoming Movie toys. Featuring an accurate Pagani alternate mode – no red Camaro this time – he’s also got what looks to be reasonably accurate proportions to the movie’s design (not easy, given the movie design didn’t so much cheat with the transformation as throw its arms up in the air and have the guy full on morph between his modes). It looks like he’s got some kind of shield or weapon on the arm.

Be warned, the picture is small and not the best resolution, but it gives an idea of where the movie toys are heading from here.

Notice also in the background you can see the foot of another toy. A legend, wished for fervently for 10 years. He’s also coming in 2018. Leader class Blackout.

(You can also see a bit of green in the bottom left which is probably the rumored new Ratchet. But yay, Leader Blackout!)

Hello and welcome to the final Transformers Universe: Bumblebee Movie News Roundup post.

It’s a wrap, folks! After 70 days of filming, the principal photography of Bumblebee: The Movie has come to an end. In case you are wondering why there is a title change, the movie Wrap Party  revealed what may be the finalized title for the movie.

At the near end of last week, various cast members announced the conclusion of their contribution to the movie. Jason Drucker stated “Last Day in HMU” (which is an abbreviation for ‘Hair/Makeup’, a common term used during movies) while getting ready for his last day of filming. That was our first indication of principal photography was coming to an end. The statement was followed by Hailee Steinfeld who stated “Last day on #BumblebeeTheMovie. I’m so emotional I forgot to brush my hair“. On the following day, her brother Griffin Steinfeld (who is on an unspecified role) stated that it’s a wrap.

Friday night was dedicated to the Wrap Party, showcasing the aforementioned new title for the movie and an image of Bumblebee’s head. You can read all about it via our previous news post.

For 2+ months we’ve brought you a roundup post every weekend. Filming is over and therefore it’s time to take a break. The immediate future will surely bring us Trailers, Character Art, Posters, Official Toy Images & Info as well as Toy Leaks. However, we do not expect to see a Superbowl Trailer this time as Paramount has Mission Impossible 6 and the next Cloverfield movie to advertise. But it’ll be a pleasant surprise if we do get one.

Amazon Japan has (briefly) added (then removed) its listing for the upcoming Masterpiece MP-41 Dinobot. The third Beast Wars character to get the Masterpiece series treatment, Dinobot is the most expensive Masterpiece release to date at ￥30,240 (or US $260).

What do you get for your money? A whole lot. We’ve got three alternate faces, the Golden Disc itself, and effect parts for Dinobot’s optic blasts, as well as his sword and spinning shield weapons which form his dinosaur mode tail. The robot and dinosaur mode are impressively detailed and accurate to the show, with a level of accuracy that blows this fan away. The dinosaur in particular seems extremely expressive. And this guy is big; as some theorized he’s the biggest Beast Wars Masterpiece to date, with last year’s Optimus Primal only reaching his shoulder.

What Dinobot also comes with, in a first for the Masterpiece series, is a modular display base, in the style of the chain bases marketed for the Gundam franchise. It’s undoubtedly part of what has pushed the price up (along with the light up eyes and actual spinning shield), and it marks an evolution in the growing idea of how Transformers could be displayed. We’d expect to see this base released individually later on, and we’d be okay with that.

Thanks to 2005 Boards members Born Toulouse and Nevermore we can report that Titans Return Fortress Maximus was finally spotted in Germany.

This big Titan was spotted at TK Maxx stores in Darmstadt, Frankfurt, and Wuppertal-Elberfeld. There are some interesting details for this sighting. TK Maxx is the name for the European subsidiary of TJ Maxx and they are similar to a “dollar store”, but Fortress has got a not-so-economic price of 140 Euros or 163 US Dollars approximately. The packaging also has elements for both international and European release. Thanks to 2005 Boards member Nevermore for sharing this information with us.

Via Transformerschile.cl group on Facebook we can report that Transformers Tribute Movie Anniversary Edition Optimus Prime Was Spotted At Chilean Retail.

This reissue of the original Leader Class Movie 2007 Optimus Prime with some extra chrome and paint apps was spotted at Falabella store in Plaza Oeste Mall, Región Metropolitana by Israel Veloso Pizarro. The figure is sold for 99990 Chilean Pesos which is about 158.28 US Dollars approximately which makes it one of the most expensive action figures there at the moment.
